"Voodoo Chile" was the original song, by Hendrix. he later released another version of the song called Voodoo Child (slight return), which except for the lyrics is quite different from the original Voodoo Chile.
SRV doesnt have anything to do with the naming of the song(s). he just covered it.
personally i like Voodoo Chile best, its quite slow and long (15 mins long). although Voodoo Child (slight return) became much more recognized
