Battery technology... They are working on it but you can only do so much. Apparantly they just patented new batteries that use supercapacitors which are supposed to be pretty badass. I forget exactly what they do but chances are that there is some sort of improvement in terms of capacity and/or charge time. You could have your 900 miles or at least an improvement on the 250.

This Car represents the End of the Oil Lobbies (Bush, Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Chavez of Venezuela, Iran...) and the end of terrorism, the end of taxes to politicians and governments and the end of world contamination.

900 miles! Most people don't need 900 so why would they waste carrying around a battery to go that far all the time. An average car only gets 400 for a full tank so it's harsh to expect an electric to be able to carry more energy than petrol which stores energy so well. You wouldn't be driving for 13 hours solid so if they got charging points at service stations and used newer batteries it would be possible. RC model batteries are down to 15 mins charging time now with the new LiFePo cells!

OK, so I head from here east toward Spokane, and New York on I-90, and my Tesla will peter out at only 250 miles. I guess I should keep an Electrical Jump Box with me just to get to the next city, and then sit there for 3 hours while the Tesla charges up. We need to make a Tesla that will at least go 900 miles before a re-charge. Thank you.
